Ordering coffee cups sounds simple until you hit sizes, wall types and lid compatibility. Here’s the short version.

The common sizes. 8oz suits a standard flat white or cappuccino, 12oz is the all-rounder for lattes and larger milk coffees, and 16oz covers large and takeaway-heavy orders. Most cafes stock all three.

Single, double and triple wall. Single wall cups are economical and work with sleeves. Double wall cups have a built-in insulating layer so they’re comfortable to hold without a sleeve — popular for premium service. Triple wall adds even more insulation for very hot drinks.

Lids matter — match the diameter. Lids fit by rim diameter, not by ounce size. Often 12 and 16oz cups share a lid, while 8oz takes a smaller lid. Always confirm the lid suits the cup range before bulk ordering, so you’re not left with mismatched stock.

Cold and eco options. For cold drinks, look at RPET clear cups; for an eco profile, BIO single and double wall cups with compostable lids are available.
